Tony nominated, You Can’t Take It With You was written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman and tells the story of Alice Sycamore, a stenographer in love with her boss Tony Kirby. One night, Alice invites her prospective in-laws, to the New York City home that she shares with her eccentric yet loveable extended family. What ensues is a cheerful and erratic evening of surprises, humor and fun. Viewers will be taken in by this family of characters, where the seemingly only normal Sycamore is Alice herself. This 1937 Pulitzer Prize winner will have you bursting with laughter.
Play direction by Don Enoch, along with assistant direction by Oak Park High Senior, Kayla Gorenstein, the show is produced by the Oak Park Performing Arts Alliance with production and crew supervision by Russ Peters. The 22 student cast features Seniors Jenna Kealer and Allie Mueting double cast as Alice Sycamore with Senior Nick Singley as Tony Kirby. Set construction and tech provided by the talented OPHS stage crew under the leadership of Senior Claire Matulis and Junior Sohrob Keynejad.
