David O. Selznick is filming “Gone With the Wind.” He realizes the script isn’t working. He pulls director Victor Fleming off “The Wizard of Oz” and sends for Ben Hecht “the Shakespeare of Hollywood.” He locks them in his office and announces that no one is leaving until they have a new screenplay. The only problem is that Ben hasn’t read the book. For five days, David O. Selznick and Victor Fleming hilariously reenact the book for Hecht. Together, the three men craft a screenplay that will become one of the most enduring films of all time.
