The music of Swedish supergroup ABBA is the framework around this story about a single mom and her engaged daughter is constructed. Sophie Sheridan is getting married but wants her father to give her away at her wedding on an exotic Greek island. The problem is – she doesn’t know who he is. Sophie’s mom, Donna, doesn’t know either, which sets up a carousel of detective work as Sophie tries to figure it out. All the while, ABBA’s peppy, poppy songs are injected into the mix, creating a spirited and fun musical.
