Based on the life of ”the ultimate Greenwich Village eccentric,” her nephew wrote a novel about his Auntie Mame, which be- came a Broadway play, movie and a great musical. A fun-loving lady with a flair for life, a razor sharp wit and a huge heart, Mame’s home becomes a welcome center for struggling artists, writers, freethinkers and radicals during the Great Depression. Amidst all that excitement, the death of her brother brings her nephew into the fold and the ad- ventures, and songs, accumulate.
