Curtain Call Youth Theatre will continue its 11th season with the Shakespearean soap-opera about family drama and dynamics. Performances of Hamlet begin Wednesday, November 30 and play Thursday, December 1, Saturday, December 3 at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 4 at 5pm.  Performances are at Newbury Park Adventist Auditorium, 180 Academy Drive.

Over two dozen teen thespians (ages 13 to 19) from as far North as Ventura and as far South as the San Fernando Valley participate in this Conejo Valley-based non-profit arts program as both actors and tech/design.

“For this almost-all female production of the Shakespearean classic, the actresses decided to use their art to make a social statement.  We are bringing to light the subject of traditional gender roles and what is a traditional role”.  Says Producing Artistic Director, Jeff Wallach.  “Also the idea of the effects of pronouns in relation to gender will be brought to light.  We hope this production will create conversation about these two issues”.
