What gives a girl power and punch? Is it charm, is it poise? No it’s HAIRSPRAY! Look out Simi Valley, cause You Can’t Stop The Beat when the hit Broadway Musical HAIRSPRAY returns to the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. Featuring many of the original cast members from SVCAC’s 2012 award winning sold out run, HAIRSPRAY continues to delight audiences by sweeping them away to 1960’s Baltimore, where the 50’s are out — and change is in the air! It’s 1962, and pleasantly plump Baltimore teen Tracy Turnblad has only one desire – to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star, but she must use her newfound power to vanquish the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin and integrate a TV network – all without denting her ‘do!

Hi Cary, Great website! Now, I can finally find all our local theater shows at a glance. “Spelling Bee” opened at Moorpark last night. I didn’t see it on your calender. I will probably be going tomorrow night and next weekend!! I’m sure you can get an interview from Ryan, before he becomes to famous! He will be attending UC Irvine this fall.

Yes, thanks for the info. I would love to talk to Ryan about the show and feature him on the site. We also want to keep in touch with all of our VC alums to find out what they’re up to out in the “real world” of “the Thee-Uh-Tuh.”

The initials refer to the name of the theater company, which is identified if you click on the show title. There are no other symbols – thanks for your comment!
Where is spelling bee being performed ? I saw a wonderful play called push pull last summer
There are currently no productions of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” scheduled, but stay tuned to this page because one will certainly pop up before long.
