BY LEWIS WILKENFELD
A million wonderful memories of my dear, talented friend, S. Marc Jordan. But here’s three that mean a lot to me:
1. Directing him as the Wizard in THE WIZARD OF OZ for McCoy Rigby/La Mirada. His innate decency provided the final kiss of beauty to a joyful production. When he gave the gifts of heart, brain and courage, he gave them to all of us.
2. Directing him again, this time in Musical Theatre Guild‘s DO RE MI, the same show he had starred in on Broadway 50 years previously. It was a great blessing to share his joy and laughter in rediscovering this musical.
3. His visits with family and friends to our shows at Cabrillo Music Theatre – always insisting on paying for tickets – and his great love of theatre and performers. His enthusiasm for all actors, all types of theatre and performing arts…. always positive, always supportive. Marc was the best kind of theatre animal…. a real fan! Reading comments from so many performers tonight – you should know that, at some point or another, Marc was raving enthusiastically to me about YOU!
An irreplaceable human being. Now he’s watching, making sure we fulfill his belief in us. We’ll miss you, my friend.
