HMS Pinafore, or the Lass Who Loved a Sailor
The Captain of the Pinafore has made arrangements for his daughter, Josephine, to marry Sir Joseph, the Lord Admiral of the Navy, but she is in love with Ralph, a seaman on board her father’s ship. Buttercup, a bumboat woman, boards to sell her wares. When she sees Ralph it is apparent she is keeping a secret. Dick Deadeye stirs the pot. Who will Josephine marry? What is Buttercup’s secret and how will it affect those on board the HMS Pinafore? Never mind the why and wherefore, we’ll find out what love is there for!
