A one-act farce “who done it?”, Harrogate House is a send-up of the enshrined mystery plays of Agatha Christie, featuring the genre’s requisite characters: a detective, the lady of the house, maid, butler, and cook, all cleverly—and quickly—portrayed by two actors, Maria Pavone and Michael Keith Allen. As the bodies mount and the plot thickens it’s anybody’s guess which character will be the last man—or woman—standing.
Harrogate House marks writer/director Kathleen Bosworth’s first foray into directing at SPTC, although hers is a familiar on-stage presence to SPTC audiences. Most recently seen on the Main Stage in The Birds, she also appeared as The Rat in last year’s world premier production of Sugar, and in Good People. She was a frequent actress and director at Flying H Theater in Ventura, and has appeared on stage in other theaters throughout Ventura County. Harrogate House is produced by Jill Dolan with technical direction by Allan Noel.
